Embodied Spirit Counseling
Olivia Haglund, MA, LPC
Offering holistic mental health counseling in Eugene and virtually across Oregon.
What does it mean to embody spirit?
We are embodied spirits. The human body and spirit are interconnected. Through embodiment we experience integration of our mind-body-soul. Through connecting to spirit we connect to the truth of who we really are. To embody spirit is to awaken to aliveness, presence, and wholeness.
“When a human dies the soul moves through the universe trying to describe how a body trembles when it’s lost, softens when it’s safe, how a wound would heal given nothing but time. Do you understand? Nothing in space can imagine it. No comet, no nebula, no ray of light can fathom the landscape of awe, the heat of shame. The fingertips pulling the first gray hair, and throwing it away. I can’t imagine it, the stars say. Tell us again about goosebumps. Tell us again about pain.” -Andrea Gibson
I am here to remind you that you are already whole.
My intention is to walk with you on your healing path and co-create a sacred space where we can tend to your body, mind, and spirit. My approach is heart-centered, non-pathologizing, and grounded in a humanistic lens.
I value what evidence-based practices offer us, and hold reverence for the wisdom traditions, somatic knowing, and transpersonal experiences that live outside those frameworks. I also recognize that Western psychology is rooted in colonialism, and I am committed to an approach that honors lineages of healing that the dominant system has excluded.
I weave in mindfulness, somatics, parts work, expressive arts, and nature therapy. I am certified in Somatic and Attachment Focused EMDR, and have extensive experience supporting those healing from religious and spiritual trauma. I especially enjoy working with the queer community and Highly Sensitive People (HSP), both of which are part of the path I walk. I am Health at Every Size (HAES) aligned.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Oregon and work with individual adults.
